About The Magic
The Indy Magic Girls Basketball Club is a fully incorporated non-profit 501c(3) charity that seeks young women who desire to utilize the game of basketball as their vehicle to propel themselves toward higher educational opportunities and life changing experiences around the world.
For young women to succeed in school, and in life, they must have the right academic tools and experiences to prepare them for success. Participating in the Indy Magic Girls Basketball Club organization provides female student athletes with support needed to pursue any academic and athletic challenges placed before them. Indy Magic will provide academic and college preparation training as well as athletic training and high level competitive environments which will prepare these young women for ascension to the next level of competition – THE COLLEGE ENVIRONMENT.
Many young women, who participate in basketball throughout Central Indiana, do not ascend to college participation, at any level, due to a lack of supplementary programs which would assist them academically and with college standardized testing fees, preparation and college tuition assistance. Women’s basketball, at some levels, still suffers from underfunding with players who participate receiving only one-half, or one-quarter scholarship support.
The basis of The Indy Magic Basketball Club, Inc. is that no young woman, who participates in the game of basketball, should suffer without the necessary tools to become successful on and off the court!
