
Jr. Magic Girls Basketball Program
“Developing the Next Generation of Indy Magic Stars”
Program Overview
Jr. Magic is the feeder and development program along with Go-Time for the Indy Magic Girls Basketball Club, designed for girls in grades 3–7th. The mission of Jr. Magic is to instill strong fundamentals, basketball IQ, and a love for the game while having “FUN” while preparing to transition into the competitive culture of travel basketball.
This program participates in local leagues and tournaments, focusing on skill-building and progression NOT win-loss records.
Program Goals
- Skill Development: Prioritize ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, and footwork.
- Basketball IQ: Teach game situations, decision-making, and basic offensive and defensive concepts.
- Character & Leadership: Develop sportsmanship, teamwork, communication, and leadership qualities.
- Feeder Pipeline: Prepare players for future success with Indy Magic and beyond.
Season Format
Fall, Winter, and Spring Sessions Available
Each session includes:
- 1–2 practices per week (60 minutes)
- 1–2 local league games per weekend
- Optional skill development clinics
Coaching Philosophy
Indy Magic Coaches will be training and developing all Jr Magic teams in the following:
- Player development
- Positive coaching
- Indy Magic system values
Tryouts & Team Placement
- Open tryouts held prior to each session
- Players are grouped by skill level & age
- Focus on developmental fit, not just current ability
